Thin Lizzy - Live and Dangerous (1978) Review of the TOP album!

******NUMBER ONE******
Here we are! We have made it. What an absolute belter of an album to finish on. Here is your #n1 and a fully deserved number one it is too. I hope that my write up will do it the merit it deserves so settle in chilblains, we are about to start.

Live and Dangerous is a live double album and was released in June 1978. It was recorded in London in 1976, and Philadelphia and Toronto in 1977, with further production in Paris. It was also the last Thin Lizzy album to feature guitarist Brian Robertson, who left the band shortly after its release.
The band decided to release a live album after their producer Tony Visconti did not have enough time to work on a full studio session. The group listened through various archive recordings from earlier tours and compiled the album from the best versions. Various studio overdubs were made to the live recordings during early 1978 in Paris; exactly how much of the album is overdubbed has been a contentious topic since its release, but then how many live albums haven't been played about with and perfected when needed? It has continued to attract critical acclaim and it has appeared in several lists of the greatest live albums of all time.

Boasting some absolute belters, this live album is full of classics and big hitters, it was always going to do well. It reached number 2 in the UK charts but never made number one. To be fair, a certain Grease album was holding on to that number one spot pretty comfortably. Woo oo oooo, honey!

So then, reading some of the posts, a lot of you put this at number 1.. or guessed correctly it was number 1. What about the ones that didnt vote for this? The ones that dont rate this album? What do I reckon? Not that you'll be bothered...who would?...but I actually think, for the first time in a poll, this could be the first ever fully deserved number one. Polls are difficult because peoples tastes dictate their vote and if you are not a fan of the band, well...the position is wrong. But in this case, even if you are not a fan of the band, as is the case with myself and Thin Lizzy, you can still appreciate the quality of this album and as to why it got voted number 1. I have given it a listen over the last few days. It's actually kicked Shinedown off my car playlist for the moment! Not being a huge fan of 'live albums' I can honestly say this bucks...re-read that correctly!...the trend and I actually pretty much enjoyed it. A well deserved number one indeed.
So that's it. All wrapped up. Signed, sealed and delivered. Ball out of the park. Game over. Finite. No more...

Shit, you guys still reading? Your number one had been delivered safely to your door, or rather, screen! This poll, whilst at times a little tedious, has as always been a blast. It's been a pain, but a pleasurable pain. Enjoy your number one...even if some of you enjoy a number 2 more....😉😉

From the main man Omar, the stellar Graeme, the most honoured guest Jameel and myself, we thank you for your contributions, banter, interest and insults...(especially the insults) and we look forward to doing it all again. With what I dont know. That's All Folks. Over ....and out.
